Wiele razy słyszymy w ciągu naszego życia, że mamy się czymś nie przejmować, że trzeba coś odłożyć, porzucić jakiś sposób myślenia. Są osoby, które nie mają z tym kłopotu, ja jednak do nich nie należę i wszystko co odkładam w swojej głowie, powoli się kumuluje. Myśli, które odrzucam, uczucia, od których uciekam, sprawy, które bardzo mnie martwią i stresują, wszystko to trafia w jedno miejsce plącząc się ze sobą, zbijając w jedną dużą masę. Ta masa czasami zatyka mi głowę i powoduje przytłoczenie, tak jakby wszystko od czego uciekałam spadało na mnie z dużo większą siłą. Skrawki nitek, które tworzą moją pracę powstały z innych prac – są to odpadki z prucia i szycia. Każda praca to dla mnie szansa ucieczki od rzeczywistości, dlatego wszystko co zostało po całym procesie jest symbolem, pamiątką tamtych przemyśleń. Zebrałam wszystkie moje „myśli i próby ucieczki" w formę, która pozbawiona jest lekkości. Przypomina, że nie wystarczy odłożyć myśl czy problem, trzeba stawić mu czoła.

Many times throughout our lives, we’re told not to worry about something—that we should let go, set something aside, abandon a certain way of thinking. Some people have no trouble with this, but I am not one of them. Everything I try to set aside in my mind slowly accumulates.

The thoughts I reject, the feelings I run from, the matters that worry and stress me—all of them end up in the same place, tangling together, forming one large, heavy mass. Sometimes this mass clogs my head and leaves me overwhelmed, as if everything I’ve tried to escape comes crashing down on me with even greater force.

The thread fragments that make up this work came from other pieces—they are remnants from unpicking and sewing. Every work I make is a chance to escape reality, which is why everything left behind from that process becomes a symbol, a trace of those reflections.

I’ve gathered all my “thoughts and escape attempts” into a form that is devoid of lightness. It’s a reminder that it’s not enough to simply set aside a thought or a problem—you have to face it.
