Popołudnie (Afternoon)
You can't choose your family - many of us have heard this sentence and it is not a formula that is uplifting at important moments. This saying, which eloquently emphasizes our helplessness in some area, explains our failure. Throughout our lives, we face the choices of many communities - we can decide whether we want to belong to them. The community that is family does not leave us such a choice and we automatically become its member. We cannot withdraw from the family. Even if we pass away, blood ties will remain, it is difficult to erase someone from the family tree

In my work "Afternoon" I showed my family during a visit to my grandparents' house. You can see representatives of each generation. Some are observing, others are taking care of the children. The image is blurred, the threads are pulled, the material is stretched. In this way I wanted to convey that being a member of a family is not an easy relationship. There are situations in which we have doubts whether something connects us. Conflicts, mutual complaints grow. Our patience is stretched to the limit. The fabric on which I printed my work is no longer flawless, it is sometimes difficult to see something. You have to work hard for your eyes to paint specific shapes. We put in this effort every day so that the family remains an important community for us, and not a forced place to live.
