This word refers to an edge or boundary. The edge of a forest is the place where the trees become sparse and its end becomes visible. For a lost person, the edge means salvation.
“On the verge” was created at a time when events on the Polish–Belarusian border were intensifying. We knew that what was happening there was dramatic, but at first no one fully understood the scale of the situation. The media mainly reported on the defense of the Polish border. Activists, however, shared accounts directly from the border—filled with dramatic testimonies, human rights violations, and a desperate struggle for a better life. For many people, crossing the border fence was a matter of life and death.

Słowem tym określamy brzeg/granicę. Skraj lasu, to miejsce, gdzie drzewa się przerzedzają i widać jego koniec. Dla zbłąkanej osoby – skraj to ocalenie. „Skraj” został stworzony w momencie kumulacji sytuacji na granicy polsko -białoruskiej. Wiedzieliśmy, że wydarzenia tam – są dramatyczne. Nikt nie miał na początku pojęcia o jakiej skali zjawiska mówimy. Wiadomości przekazywały informacje związane głównie z obroną polskiej granicy. Aktywiści natomiast, przekazywali wieści z samej granicy pełne dramatycznych świadectw, łamania praw człowieka i rozpaczliwej walki o lepsze życie. Dla wielu osób przekroczenie granicznej siatki było kwestią życia i śmierci.
