The burden
„Brzemię” jest opowieścią o migrenie, która towarzyszy mi od wielu lat. Jest to jedna z niewielu rzeczy, nad którą nie mam kontroli i nie potrafię przewidzieć kiedy będę musiała z nią walczyć. Twarze, przedstawione w pracy są nieestetycznie powykrzywiane. Zatrzymane w różnych grymasach, tworzą osobliwą grupę, która nie budzi pozytywnych uczuć. Przez całość przeplecione są nitki, symbolizujące ból rozlewający się po całej twarzy, rozsadzający oczy i nozdrza. Niektóre z postaci są mocno zakryte – przestają być widoczne, w walce z cierpieniem. Nić otacza twarze i nie uchodzi w inne miejsce, ból krąży cały czas i atakuje na różne sposoby. Nić i twarze tworzą jedną masę, trudno doszukiwać się tu indywidualności, a każda z twarzy powoli zanika na tle innych.

“Burden” is a story about migraine, which has accompanied me for many years. It is one of the few things over which I have no control, and I can never predict when I will have to fight it.
The faces depicted in the work are distorted in an unaesthetic way. Frozen in various grimaces, they form a peculiar group that does not evoke positive feelings. Threads run throughout the piece, symbolizing the pain that spreads across the entire face, bursting through the eyes and nostrils.
Some of the figures are heavily obscured—they cease to be visible in their struggle with suffering. The thread surrounds the faces and doesn’t lead elsewhere; the pain constantly circulates and attacks in different ways.
The thread and the faces form a single mass—it's hard to distinguish any individuality here, and each face slowly fades into the background of the others.
